246 Cannery Row

An IMAX theater was to built in on the site of an old cannery warehouse at 246 Cannery Row. This is located between San Carlos Beach Park (on the left below) and the Monterey Plaza Hotel (the large pink building to the right of the IMAX site).

Note, the orange mesh that was put up to show the size and shape of the new construction had blown down by the time these photos were taken.

Wouldn't this be a great place for a pocket park instead of more commercial development right on the bay and sanctuary?
