There has been and is wide agreement that
the activities (beach parties and kayaking) based in/on the
Catellus East site are valuable to both residents and visitors
-- the buildings and other obstructions of view and public use
are not.
With creative planning and organization it will be possible
to have both first class facilities for hosting beach parties
and kayaking AND and an open Window on the Bay.
The following letters, plan and photos were sent to
the Mayor and Council on 10/9/07 and 11/13/07.
In addition, former Mayor Clyde
Roberson, architect Nashwan
Hamza, and community leader Sharon
Dwight have submitted
letters with very similar plans for Catellus East.
And on 12/01/07 letters to the
Editor of the Herald by Harlan
Mc Ginnis's and Richard Rccello were published.
